I love reading.  I have ever since I can remember.  I love the smell of books from the library.  Do you know what I mean?  When I was a kid we used to have a bookmobile that used to come to our neighborhood…because we lived in the middle of nowhere.  We used to take books out and I remember the smell.  I thought it was just the bookmobile but it turns out that smell is universal to most books I smell from the library.  Laney brought a book home from the school library the other day and I was reading it to her.  I stuck my nose in it and sure enough…there was that age old smell.  I cannot describe it.  You just have to know it.

When you have kids there are certain things you hope they inherit from you…and of course some you don’t. ;D  Both Corey and I have often said we hope the girls develop a love for reading.  It seems they are.  Ava is tearing through books lately.  Reading chapter books her level in 2-3 days.  Yes, sounds like Corey and I! ;D

The other night after showers they were laying in front of the fireplace…yes it was cold enough to have it running!…reading.

    Journaling says:
I’ve traveled the world twice over,
Met the famous; saints and sinners,
Poets and artists, kings and queens,
    Old stars and hopeful beginners,
I’ve been where no-one’s been before,
Learned secrets from writers and cooks
    All with one library ticket
To the wonderful world of books.

What a wonderful page… I want to do this for Rainee…. I want her to be excited to read… she loves our story time before we go to bed… it’s such special thing to have the use of your imagination… it’s the one part of being a kid we actually get to keep forever… how cool is that.

anyway…. I love this lo… it’s simply beautiful!!! thanks so much for inspiring me not only with the lo… but with the journaling… and with the ideas… you’re the bomb girl…

The smell of books is wonderful. I loved reading growing up. My parents chose not to have a TV until I was in 6th grade.

I envy you and your fireplace. Way to hot here for that. Although today, I was able to go turn the dirt in the garden and only break out into a minor sweat!
