I love reading. I have ever since I can remember. I love the smell of books from the library. Do you know what I mean? When I was a kid we used to have a bookmobile that used to come to our neighborhood…because we lived in the middle of nowhere. We used to take books out and I remember the smell. I thought it was just the bookmobile but it turns out that smell is universal to most books I smell from the library. Laney brought a book home from the school library the other day and I was reading it to her. I stuck my nose in it and sure enough…there was that age old smell. I cannot describe it. You just have to know it.
When you have kids there are certain things you hope they inherit from you…and of course some you don’t. ;D Both Corey and I have often said we hope the girls develop a love for reading. It seems they are. Ava is tearing through books lately. Reading chapter books her level in 2-3 days. Yes, sounds like Corey and I! ;D
The other night after showers they were laying in front of the fireplace…yes it was cold enough to have it running!…reading.
Journaling says:
I’ve traveled the world twice over,
Met the famous; saints and sinners,
Poets and artists, kings and queens,
Old stars and hopeful beginners,
I’ve been where no-one’s been before,
Learned secrets from writers and cooks
All with one library ticket
To the wonderful world of books.
