Alle vinnerne fra BAFTAs videospill 2018

British Academy Games Awards 2018 (også kalt BAFTAs videospill) avsluttes endelig. Her er alle vinnerne.

Til slutt fortsatte videospillet BAFTAs 2018 prisens stolte tradisjon for å sette et lys på bransjens mindre innsats med lavere budsjett, i tillegg til de store budsjettstunnerne.

Mindre titler som Cuphead og Night in the Woods fikk sin musikk og fortelling anerkjent hensiktsmessig, men mange av de større prisene ble hentet av spill med flere ganger deres produksjonsbudsjetter.

Horizon Zero Dawn gikk bort med Best Original Property, mens Super Mario Odyssey mottok Best Game Design and Best Family Game og The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild vant Design Innovation. Etter å ha vunnet stort på prisene i fjor, plukket Overwatch enda en BAFTA for Best Evolving Game.

Kveldens største overraskelse var Best Multiplayer, som ble plukket opp av Divinity: Original Sin 2.

Mens andre utdelingsseremonier har fokusert på å kjempe for sosiale bevegelser, tok videospillet BAFTAs en annen holdning, med presentatører for Evolving Game-prisen, Abubakar Salim og Alix Wilton Regan, og påpekte 5: 1 kvinnelig til mannlig forhold til Best Performance Award.

Men kveldens største vinner var Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, et spill som flagget for industris indiescene og kjempet tappert mot sine bedre finansierte konkurrenter. Det hentet akademiets debut 'Games Beyond Entertainment'-pris, noe som førte til en inderlig tale om kraften til spill for å bryte ned stigmaet rundt mental helse, og et sekund for Artistic Oppnåelse. Det tredje var en Audio Achievement-pris, og en fjerde en (noe forventet på dette tidspunktet) prisen for å være det beste britiske spillet. Det er hovedskuespillerinne Melina Juergens hentet spillets femte pris.

Da BAFTAs Best Game-kategori kom, var det derfor en overraskelse å se prisen gå til What Remains of Edith Finch. Best Game-prisen var kampens første og eneste utmerkelse for kvelden.

Til slutt ble kvelden avrundet med et BAFTA-stipend som ble tildelt Tim Schafer, den legendariske designer bak utallige eventyrspill inkludert The Secret of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango og Psykonauter.
